My name is Steve, and thanks for visiting!

I started this site to let others know about the wonders of this great hobby we call Prop Collecting, for short. In truth, it is the collection of original prop(ertie)s, from film and TV. But, it is so much more than that.

For me, this hobby is all about the movies, and the lessons we can learn from them. I love films…all kinds of them. Comedies, as you will see, hold a special place in my heart and in my collection.  I really love to laugh. But, I really just love a good movie.

So as you can imagine…when I figured out the fact that there were avenues for collecting the actual, screen-used items straight out of the movies… I was enthralled. It immediately captivated my attention and I started researching as much about this ‘hobby’ as I could find online.

In 2003 I made my first original prop acquisition which just happens to be a prop children’s book from the holiday movie Elf, starring Will Ferrell (see it, HERE). Man, that guy is funny. Anyway, it has been PropCollecting for me, ever since. If your favorite movies and TV shows have inspired you like mine have, and you like a good challenge you may just love this.

I have been a ‘collector’ all my life, and this exquisite yet challenging hobby certainly feels like a pinnacle.
